There are flight options into Castlegar with Air Canada.

Please note, you must route through Vancouver, which we know is not ideal for our Alberta family but it is an option to consider!

For people traveling from Alberta;

After Creston is the Kootenay Mountain Pass which will have the most extreme winter road conditions, there is an option to avoid the mountain pass and take a more scenic route which involves a Free Ferry - if you time your drive based on the Ferry

The Mountain Pass Route is the default route for both Apple Maps and Google Maps (as long as the road isn't closed) so if you would like to take the Ferry Route you may need to add the town of Balfour as a stop to pull up the route!
