Brittany’s always been a small-town mountain girl with a quirky vibe. She and Gramps have bounced around a bunch of cool little mountain towns—from Hood River, OR, to Revelstoke, BC, and even Calgary (but that didn’t last long). Eventually, they found their way back to the cozy, mountain life in Nelson, BC.
After a few months outside Nelson, Brittany decided to split a house with Neil in Castlegar. She met both Neil and Dallas through their mutual friends Owen and Sam back in January 2020 in Revy chasing the snow.
Soon enough, Neil convinced Dallas to make the Kootenays home, something they'd been talking about for years after countless snowboard and sledding trips. Dallas, who grew up in Medicine Hat, always found himself driving to BC on weekends to get into the mountains. Eventually, he figured, why not just live here?
As roommates, Brittany and Dallas clicked instantly. They spent their summer mountain biking, fishing, and cooking together, then traded bikes for snowboards when winter hit. Dallas would joke that he fell in love with Brittany while struggling to keep up with her in the powder, while Brittany knew she was in good hands when Dallas started helping her level up her sledding skills.
Now, they’re living the dream with Dori and Gramps on Prairie Road, raising chickens and soaking in those mountain views. They’ve turned their trailer into a cozy little home, tackling renovations together like a pro team—because who wouldn’t want to bond over ripping up floors and picking out paint colors? And of course, they’re already dreaming up the house they’ll build when it’s time to upgrade.
And come New Year’s Eve, they’re throwing a wedding celebration to show off their Kootenay life—and they’re inviting you to witness it all
